Your friend is correct. You can discuss something, or you can talk about it, but discuss about is redundant for the reason you identified. discuss: to speak with another or others about. But if you want to use the word about, you can have a conversation about, confer about, debate about, or even have a powwow about.. Most of the other synonyms for discuss don't take about, nor is it . A book—even a classic—doesn't have to be difficult to be a great read. While you may find that the language in books such as " Robinson Crusoe " and " Gulliver's Travels " is a bit hard to wrap your head around because they were written so long ago, most readers have no problems with " Treasure Island."Author: Esther Lombardi.

We Don’t Eat Our Classmates by Ryan T. Higgins is a fun and engaging story about a dinosaur who is nervous to start school. She walks into the classroom to find that all of her classmates are children and boy are they tasty! We Don't Die is a fascinating book, both spiritually uplifting and mind blowing from a metaphysical point of view. I read the book because my wife died and a friend of mine met with George Anderson and wholeheartedly believed George was a true medium with very specific knowledge from the beyond/5().

But where we find ourselves confronted with complete enigma—Peter Stamm’s Seven Years () was another novel whose characters What we dont discuss book seemed to be behaving in ways that made no sense to me—it is perhaps worth giving the author the benefit of What we dont discuss book doubt, or coming back to the book after putting it down for a while.

Certainly it was. This book is about why we don't learn from the history of war. Liddell argues that the history of war is the most important of all history and should be studied more in depth by universities. It is easy to see as the world would be very different if someone else had won or lost a war/5.

Gary Howard's We Can't Teach What We Don't Know is a great "how-to," combining first-hand narrative/confessional/memoir with a heavily researched textbook that doesn't read like one.

The "how-to" is directed toward White teachers working with students of different races in schools/5. We all knew what that meant. He hadn’t been planning to vote a straight ticket, but my mother’s relatives had convinced him to vote against every one of their candidates.

Never Discuss Politics. Undoubtedly my views on discussing politics, especially in a religious context, hark back to that gray Sunday afternoon in November of   I’ve been in a lot of book clubs, and I know it’s not always easy to get a conversation going on a book.

I’ve found that the best book club discussion questions are ones that are open-ended and that get people to share their personal opinions.

If you’re ready to start a book club, here’s 40 of the best book club questions, for fiction Author: Teresa Preston. In Why We Can’t Sleep, Calhoun opens up the cultural and political contexts of Gen X’s predicament and offers solutions for how to pull oneself out of the abyss—and keep the next generation of women from falling in.

The result is reassuring, empowering, and essential reading for all middle-aged women, and anyone who hopes to understand them.

That is why we summarily refuse to discuss what is in the box, or to even read your description or to view the video. Such discussions are pointless and a waste of time.

A mighty whack of prattle from we people-with-a-camera, in part a response to a recent video by WordsofaReader, and additional unsorted parts on the topic of book-buying-in-general. Weighted Average Cost of Capital (WACC) is defined as the weighted average of cost of each component of capital (equity, debt, preference shares etc) where the weights used are target capital structure weights expressed in terms of market values.

We will discuss the difference between book value WACC and market value weights and why market value weights are. We hate being stuck with a book even if we chose it. We hate being placed in groups with students we have nothing in common with.

We hate having to keep logs, write reports, and do group work when all we want to do is read and discuss. Don’t you see, we hate book clubs.” So I listened, and I answered their questions whether they wanted me.

We Need to Talk About Kevin is a novel by Lionel Shriver, published by Serpent's Tail, about a fictional school is written from the first person perspective of the teenage killer's mother, Eva Khatchadourian, and documents her attempt to come to terms with her son Kevin and the murders he committed, as told in a series of letters from Eva to her : Lionel Shriver.

The big point of the book is that we are in a system that incentivizes this kind of politics, and so this is the politics we’re getting.

To illustrate why, I'll tell a story: It was probably about 15 years ago when a conversation took place between my aunt, who is White and lives in New York State, and my sister, who is Black and lives in North Carolina.
